Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Simmr collects, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law.
Last updated: Sat 6 Jun
Simmr ("we", "us") operates the Simmr platform connecting home cooks with customers in the UK. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the platform. This is a summary of our practices; please review it carefully.
What we collect
- Account details — name, email, password (stored hashed), and phone number where you provide it.
- Order & delivery details — addresses, order history, dietary preferences and notes you supply.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage data — basic technical information needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use it
- To create your account and process and deliver your orders.
- To operate subscriptions, reviews, referrals, wallet credit and loyalty features.
- To send transactional messages (order confirmations and updates).
- To keep the platform secure and comply with our legal obligations.
- To send marketing messages only where you have opted in.
Sharing with cooks & service providers
When you place an order, the relevant kitchen receives the details needed to fulfil it (for example your name, order and — for delivery or collection — the necessary address or contact details). We also use trusted service providers to run the platform, including hosting, database, image hosting, payments, authentication and email delivery. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and secure. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for any period required to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to object to certain processing. You can also withdraw consent for marketing at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us.
